Description
This is the first general release Kilchoman that has been done at cask strength. A proportion of the barley used in production is grown and malted at the distillery. It is a vatting of five year old matured in bourbon barrels.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
Distillery: Soft peaty aromas, citrus and pear drops.
The WSD: The nose is sweet hot peppercorns on an open fire with the malt in the kiln. Real chilli prickle. Then develops in to cough medicine and fisherman friends. |
Taste |
Distillery: Sweetness first, soft peat smoke and ripe fruity notes.
The WSD: Zongkingly strong peat smoke on the palate. Diesel engines. Liquorish and all spice. The mechanic has a bad cold. |
Finish |
Distillery: Long and clean with peat smoke and citrus later. |
