The content of this website including photography, imagery and other material is the property of The Whisky Shop Dufftown Limited.

2. Privacy policy

We do not disclose personal information to third parties unless it is necessary to complete a purchase e.g. to our delivery agents. Some personal information is collected when purchasing or registering. This information is collected for legal and tax purposes, and so that we can deliver orders.

3. Security

We take every step to keep your information secure. Data such as credit card details are encrypted and held by our payment services agent, Opayo, and not by us.

4. Payment Methods

Payment can be made by debit or credit card including American Express.

5. Retail

We operate as a retail seller and the items we sell are intended for personal use.

6. Follow Up and Order Tracking

Once an order is placed, we will email you to update you on progress and supply you with tracking details for your order where appropriate.

7. Shipping and Delivery

Delivery charges are calculated based on the of items in the order and the destination address.  We ship to many countries.  These are detailed on the shipping page of our website with the rates.  Delivery of alcohol related products to certain countries or regions of a country are prohibited.  Please note that to certain destinations we ship bottles individually for speed and safety reasons.

For the safety of your bottle, and to keep postage costs down, when shipping outside of the UK we do not send the outer packaging with the bottle unless that packaging can be packed flat.

VAT is payable on UK shipments.  UK alcohol duty is paid on all alcoholic products we sell. However, when shipping outside of the UK, the customer will be liable for local taxes and duties upon arrival in your country any customs fee or similar. It is the customers responsibility to check with their countries import regulations and to comply and pay these duties.  Refunds are not paid when custom clearance was not possible.

Please note that our couriers require a signature on delivery.  If this does not occur then full responsibility for the delivery, and any liability arising from it, is with the customer.  Some examples where this might occur are, but not limited: waiving the requirement for a signature with the courier; instructing the courier to leave the delivery outside your property; and delivery to a communal delivery point in the building where your property is.

8. Returns Policies

Please check your purchases carefully when you receive them. Please raise any issues with us within 7 days of delivery.  We will refund or replaced damaged bottles.  We may require proof if goods are damaged.

We operate a returns system for UK orders only.  In this event, the products must be returned to us in good condition.  Any product returned must be adequately packed to avoid any possible damage.

9. Accuracy

While we have endeavoured to ensure the accuracy of the information on the site, we cannot guarantee or give any warranty as to the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of any information or material on the web site. Prices and specifications can change without notice and products are subject to availability. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Age Restriction

By using our website you are confirming that you are of legal age to purchase alcohol in the country in which you reside.

11. Availability

Supply is usually reliable for most products  but is not guaranteed.  Should a product be unavailable, we will inform you.

12. Taxes and Duties

Alcholic products sold at whiskyshopdufftown.com are subject to UK taxation and duty.   If we are sending to an address out side of the UK, we will not charge VAT.  However, you will be liable to local taxes and duties upon arrival in your country. It is the customers responsibility to check with their countries import regulations and to comply and pay these duties.  Refunds are not paid when custom clearance was not possible.
