Description
Glenmorangie Milsean has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and then extra-matured in re-toasted wine casks. The distinct cask preperation was used to replicate something of the moreish sweetshop flavours. The Milsean is the seventh release from the Private Edition and Glenmorangie describe this as being their most exuberant Private Edition whisky yet, sumptuous and moreish
Tasting Notes
Nose |
Distillery: Sweet and spicy with hints of sugar cane, ripe fruits, fudge, candy sweetness and buttery coconut.
The WSD: Dark treacle cooking in the pan, prunes with hints of fresh cut grass underneath. Baked oranges and apples come through after a while. After a time dark ground chocolate notes with a dusting of coco powder. With water soft citrus notes come through. (V) |
Taste |
Distillery: Phenominally and unforgettably, the taste displays all of that abundant sweetshop extravagance. It blazes with complex sugar-coated flavours, tart plummy fruit, cherries, angelica and candied orange peel. Other fruits - peaches, nectarines, plums and melons - are present too, the backbone of all Glenmorangie expressions.
The WSD: Burnt toffee with spiced oranges, fresh figs. The spices leave your tongue with a pleasant tingling. With water creamy coffee sprinkled with cinnamon with fudge on the side. (V) |
Finish |
Distillery: A whisky of depth, its lingering finish features ginger, brown sugar and cake mix. |
