Description
This Port Charlotte was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 from a first fill ex-bourbon barrel. This is the first time Berry Brothers & Rudd have bottled a Port Charlotte but they have said it certainly won't be the last.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
BB&R: The obvious aromas of peat smoke are followed by spiced vanilla, creme brulee and a thick farmy note reminiscent of an old style whisky. |
Taste |
BB&R: The palate can seem a little one dimensional at cask strength, which is no bad thing, but this single mindedness disappears with the addition of water and an array of malty, fruity notes develop long into the finish. |
