Aged for a minimum of 12 years in refill bourbon casks, Knockando Season was distilled in 2004 and the distillery say this possesses the classic elegance and complexity of the finest Speyside malts, with a unique delicacy and fruitiness.
|Distillery: Fruity-floral with a hint of blackcurrant. Some ash, then a trace of damp linen. Water brings up cereal notes and meaty aromas. Develops towards scorched paper.
WSD: Perfume and orange at the start. Honey and malt breakfast cereal. Gentle spices and cracked pepper.
|Distillery: Pleasantly sweet, central palate. Drying lightly with a trace of acidity.
WSD: A rounded balanced taste. Theres sherry there and vanilla essence. Treacle toffee and hints of a cardamom.
|Distillery: Relatively short. Clean and easy to drink.
WSD: The spiciness grows on the finish which gives it complexity.
