Description
This Adelphi Bowmore was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2015 from an American oak, ex-sherry cask and, there is a chance it could be Fino, which produced 214 bottles.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
Adelphi: Powerfully phenolic for a Bowmore, more like a Caol Ila in fact; a mossy fire (green and wet) started by paraffin-soaked fire lighters, with Germolene atiseptic cream and sea shore notes following on. |
Taste |
Adelphi: The sherry cask influence does begin to temper this initial burst of iodine, and the taste has a lovely balance of sweetness, saltiness and tar. |
Finish |
Adelphi: The finish is surprisingly long, almost Campbeltown-like, with images of old hemp ropes coiled by the harbour. |
