Description
This Adelphi Ben Nevis was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2015 from a refill Spanish oak, ex-sherry butt which produced 1146 bottles.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
Adelphi: Initially quite dry on the nose (Spanish oak influence), this is immediately replaced with a freshly opened jar of apricot jam, quite marmalade-like now with even more jammy notes, apricot, mango and a hint of orange peel. Star anise appears with honey menthol cough sweets and flaked almonds. |
Taste |
Adelphi: On the palate sticky toffee pudding, more almonds, milk chocolate, and now lime marmalade. |
Finish |
Adelphi: Sweet jams continue in the finish with just a hint of the 18 years spent in oak. |
