    Glenturret Peated Edition Batch 3

The distillery say - "The Glenturret Peated Edition exclusively combines both our unpeated style of Glenturret spirit with our heavily peated style of spirit known as Ruadh Maor. This expression delivers definitive smoke and light spice aromas before developing into an array of maturing fruit and smouldering peat flavours on the palate. This exclusive bottling sublimely incorporates smokey and sweet together in a rare addition to our Glenturret range of Scotch whiskies."

Finlaggan Red Wine Cask Matured Islay Single Malt

It is a closely guarded secret which distillery the Finlaggan is from but it is certainly a cracking Islay whisky. The Vintage Malt Whisky Company tell us 'Many years ago, in a first for our company, we filled new make Finlaggan into Rioja Red Wine Hogsheads. Coming from the Rioja region within the Basque country of Spain, these Hogsheads have given our signature heavily peated Finlaggan an extra layer of rich mouth coating red berried fruits. The result is a truly mouthwatering sweet and smoky dram to savour.

Kilchoman STR Cask Matured 2019 Edition

The distillery says: "A creation of the late Dr Jim Swan, STR refers to a specific formula for the Shaving, Toasting and Re-Charring casks. A total of 43 casks filled in 2012 were selected by Anthony Wills, Kilchoman’s Founder and Managing Director, bottled at a strength of 50% abv without chill-filtration or colouring." "The process of shaving, toasting and re-charring has had a huge influence on these casks and the flavours of the resulting single malt. We released a full maturation Red Wine Cask release in 2016 which took on lots of the big and bold wine flavours, however the STR cask provides a different approach. The shaving has reduced some of the bolder flavours on the surface of the oak, producing a more subtle red wine influence. Once shaved, the casks were then toasted and charred over a natural oak fire, fuelled exclusively using oak chips from used staves. These processes remove harsh tannins and undelivered flavours and break down unwanted chemical bonds such as lignin, celluloses and hemicelluloses, replacing them with sugars, vanilla and spice notes."

The distillery says - "Inspired to produce an even fruitier, sweeter Balvenie, Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie had the bright idea to import Virgin Oak barrels from Kentucky. The result is a delectably complex whisky with notes of candied fruit, coconut and delicate vanilla."

    Eight Lands Organic Speyside Vodka

The distillery says - "Our vodka is incredibly pure, but also characterful - ensuring each sip transports the drinker to the rural, open space of Glenrinnes. We use both barley and wheat grains, a two-stage fermentation process, and a combination of column and pot stills. This process is unusual, and time consuming, but that’s what it takes to create remarkable depth of flavour - a spirit you’ll never forget." Tasting notes Distillery - Well rounded nose of marzipan and vanilla pods. On the palate, you can really taste the quality grain, leading into butterscotch, coconut. A long, smooth finish with a hint of spice on the palate.

    Edinburgh Gin 1670

The distillery says "Bringing together the natural connection between botany and gin distilling, Edinburgh Gin 1670 is the result of an innovative partnership with Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RGBE). This gin draws inspiration from the unearthing of the ‘1670 Physic Garden’, originally created as a source of botanicals for use in medicinal remedies by two pioneering Edinburgh doctors, Robert Sibbald and Andrew Balfour. The result is a contemporary gin that is rooted in a fascinating chapter of Edinburgh’s history. This natural partnership saw our Head Distiller and RGBE’s Head Botanist work for over 12 months to experiment with and refine the recipe. Many of the botanicals in this unique gin would have been found in the original Physic Garden. This includes fennel (seeds and leaves) and sweet cicely, alongside exotic plants such as Piper Leaf, Tasmannia Lanceolata leaf and Tasmanian Mountain Pepper, all freshly picked from RBGE. Bottled at 43% ABV, this distinctive gin can be enjoyed in a classic G&T, served with premium Indian Tonic Water and garnished with a fresh basil leaf. Its crisp notes also complement classic cocktails such as the RBGE Martini, mixed with lemon bitters and garnished with fennel fronds."

Shetland Reel Up Helly AA 2019 Gin

The distillery say: "Up Helly Aa 2019 is a blend of 4 different casks that have all previously contained whiskies from some of the most prestigious distilleries in Scotland (Aberlour, Glenlivet, Glen Garioch). Ocean Sent gin was filled into the casks at 60% and is aged for up to three months before being bottled and hand sealed with red wax. This is the first release that has been matured across multiple casks, each carefully selected by master distiller Stuart Nickerson. The cask ageing process helps to reduce the kick sometimes associated with navy strength gins. Using our award-winning Ocean Scent as the base of our 2019 edition, it has given this expression a huge depth of flavour thanks to it’s unique botanical – bladderwrack seaweed."
