The distillery says: "Since 1997, the Distillers Editions have been an annual release of limited quantities, each very much true to its origins yet possessing a rich depth, complexity and nuance of flavour not found in the regular release. This excellent Dalwhinnie whisky has been firstly matured in Refill American and European Oak casks. With the second maturation finished in Oloroso-seasoned re- charred American Oak with heavily recharred new AO ends." This release was bottled in 2022
Tasting Notes

| Distillery: Lightly heathery and sweetly honeyed, the aroma is beautifully introduced by a nutty-fruity waft of Oloroso. Tropical fruit notes of banana and pineapple give it a really appealing character, further developed by hints of fresh apricots, walnuts, and a little wood spice. |
| Taste |
| Distillery: Creamy-smooth and coating, flowing lightly over the tongue. The taste is honey sweet, yet soon buzzes with warming nutmeg and pepper spice which nicely balance exotic, fruity hints of grape, peach and apricot |
| Finish |
| Distillery: Quite long, attractively sweet and malty yet also clean and with plenty of white pepper spiciness. Elegantly drying, vanilla-rich oak-spice lingers in the aftertaste. |
Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is only distilled from spirit made between October and March. Dalwhinnie believe that 'as the snow falls and the air is sharp with frost, the cold copper intensifies their liquid and it's rich deep character unfolds. When the winter grows colder, their liquid becomes gentler and warmer.'
