Tasting Notes
Nose |
Adelphi: Vanilla ice cream, ripe pears and coconut tanning oil. As it begins to open, we can add sweet candy, sherbet and caramel covered baked apples. There is also evidence of fresh fruit salad and orange zest, linseed oil and shred flat leaf parsley, all wrapped in a well-aged and balanced oak 'cloak' with old fashioned ladies face compact.
The WSD: Treacle toffee, muscovado sugar, bounty bars with a hint of apricot mixed in the chocolate. (V) |
Taste |
Adelphi: The taste brings oiled lemon boiled sweets, Clafoutis, fresh pears, a little moss and sanded oak wood. Again it develops, now with Devonshire clotted cream, liquid caramel, choc-ice and cheap ice cream.
The WSD: The bounty bar really comes through on the taste with the apricots still there. A drop of water adds Christmas spices and a touch more creaminess. (V) |
Finish |
Adelphi: Very complex and yet perfectly blalnced and gentle old grain. |
