The casks used are 20% first fill bourbon. 25% first fill sherry. 55% refill casks.

Chapter Three in the Legacy Series marries some of the very finest American oak sherry casks in the Glengoyne warehouses according to the distillery.
The Distillery says: "Our signature spirit, distilled in Scotland's tallest stills, is aged first in Bourbon cask for smooth, fruity notes. We then finish this single malt whisky in hand-selected Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez Sherry casks to create full-bodied richness and complex spice."
The distillery says 'Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is aged first in bourbon casks for smooth, fruity notes then finished in ruby port casks to create chocolate boldness and velvety depth.'
Aged in 3 types of cask - bourbon, refill and re-charged - these whiskies are then brought together delivering a perfectly balanced single malt. The Loch Lomond Distillery describe this as having floral notes of peach blossom, pear, golden barley and vanilla. 
Loch Lomond 12 Years Old has been aged in three types of casks, bourbon, refill and recharred. The distillery say 'This exquisite 12 Year Old Single Malt has a deep fruity character of peach and pear layered with a vanilla sweetness and the characteristic hints of peat and smoke 
The distillery says: "Loch Lomond 12 Year Old single malt uses a combination of whisky from our unique straight neck pot stills and more traditional swan neck stills. Aged in American Oak casks, to create the signature fruit, honey and soft smoke style only found in Loch Lomond single malt whisky. This perfectly balanced expression is brought together by Michael Henry, our Master Blender, and has delicious notes of peach and pear layered with vanilla sweetness and a gentle hint of smoke on the finish. Aged in three types of American Oak casks - Bourbon, Refill and Recharred."
The distillery say this has been aged to perfection for 14 years in specially selected American oak casks which deliver a underlying sweetness with hints of honey. It is then finished in French Limousin oak for up to 12 months.
