The distillery says - "Eager to experiment with The Balvenie profile using what he had learnt from a recent trip to Islay, distillery manager Ian Millar ordered a batch of Speyside peat for the kiln. This GlenAllachie was distilled on 20th August 2008 and bottled in August 2020 and matured in a Rioja Red Wine barrel which produced 313 bottles. Rioja, the region synonymous with Spain and Wine, produces wines mostly containing the Tempranillo grape aged in cask for many years. These Barrels are sourced from some of the regions top producers and deliver wonderful
notes of summer berries combined with a depth of body leading to a long finish (much as you would expect form the wines). Specially selected for the UK only.
