The distillery say "Every year we release an expression of Aberfeldy finished in a different red wine cask. Each one adds different fruit and oak flavours to our delicate spirit. In 2021 Stephanie Macleod selected Cote Rotie red wine casks, a powerful and elegant red wine from the Rhône Valley. They were chosen to bestow expressive and seductive qualities, silky textures and fruits with luscious, red berry characteristics on the 18 year old Aberfeldy single malt.

Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers tell us 'This Glen Garioch 32 Years Old was acquired by Stanley P Morrison in 1970 at a time when the distillery had been mothballed. The 1988 Glen Garioch is typical of the style Glen Garioch were producing at the time when the traditional malting of peated barley was still in use at the distillery. The whisky has a beautifully balanced herbal character with ever so gentle peat smoke lingering in the background.'
It was distilled on 28th October 1988 from a bourbon barrel which produced 108 bottles and bottled on 28th August 2021.

Uniquely waxy character, with sweetness to taste, brown sugar and a hint of floral notes on the nose.
What The WSD thinks: Wood chippings and cracked pepper with hints of lanolin and banana flavoured chewy sweets. Very much initially icing sugar sweet before tropical fruit concentrate comes bowling in.
