A Great Speyside Whisky Festival with all the colours of Autumn!

Held annually on the last weekend of September, The Whisky Shop Dufftown Autumn Festival gives visitors the opportunity to taste, explore, sample, hear and experience the very best of Speyside and have lots of fun at the same time.  All with the backdrop of the breath-taking scenery of Speyside in Autumn.

Thursday 25 September 2014

11:00 to 17:00 - Blind Blends:  This is our continued search for the best blended whisky in the world.  Come along at any time between 11:00 and 17:00 to try the samples.  Should take you 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

15:30 - Whisky Tour: Glen Keith Distillery - Join us for a trip by bus to Glen Keith distillery were we will tour this renovated distillery and then sample some of its whisky.

18:00 - It All Started with a Big Dram:  Like the start of the Universe we like to start the festival with a few big drams but like the TV show we like to do it in a fun and humorous way,   £5 of every ticket sale goes to charity.

09:15 Whisky Tour - 7 Decades of Glenfarclas:  Join us for a bus ride to Glenfarclas where we will enbark on a tour of the distillery followed a tasting of whiskies from each of the last 7 decades.  Not to be missed.

13:00 to 17:00 - In-Store Extravaganza: Wemyys.  Come along to the shop for a tasting of whiskies from Wemyss.  Drop in anytime between 13:00 and 17:00.  And it's free!

13:00 - Find the Best Dram for Haggis  -  Come along to the hall from 12:00 to 13:00 and you can have Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with 4 nips of different single malt whisky and help us find the best malt to go with Haggis!  

15:00 - Masterclass:  Gordon & MacPhail - Try the latest whiskies from this Independent Bottler.

17:30 - Masterclass:    Discovering Peat in Whisky Corner with Kirsty Clarke & Stewart Craigon.   In this Tasting Kirsty & Stewart of Whisky Corner will be investigating the flavour that peat smoke gives to whisky?  They will discuss the science (what's ppm anyway?), the fun (there's plenty to be had,) oh and

13:00 - Find the Best Dram for Haggis:   This is the same event detailed on Saturday and Sunday.  At this stage we will only run this event if there is the demand so if you are interested please send us an email on enquiries@whiskyshopdufftown.com with your details.
