Kilchoman Summer 2010 Release

The brand new Kilchoman is now in stock and will be available to try during The Autumn Speyside Festival 2010.

This release is from 100% Bourbon casks.  By far the most refined release so far.  In no way is this a hard hitting 3 year old from Islay but that's what it is.  It's much better behaved than that and a real pleasure to drink,

Nose: A pleasing balance of sweet ash and some tar.  Definite notes of pear drops, vanilla essence, candid lemon and rock salt - packs of Starburst on the bonfire.

Taste:  Sweet, smoke and spiced fruits in 3 very defined waves.

Finish: Quite dry.  Peat smoke, cloves and hot chills spices which last for a long time.

Lots of New Exciting Single Malt Releases and more

There have been quite a few new bottlings for single malt whisky into the shop over the last week or two.

Kilchoman Spring Spring 2010 Release £45.95

The latest release from Kilchoman.  This one has been matured in a combination of fresh and refill bourbon barrels for 3 years then finished in 'very active' oloroso butts for 3 and a half months.

Kilchoman Spring 2010 Release

Three New Realease from Adelphi

Adelphi Bunnahabhain 1968 41 Years Old £137.95

From 2 European Oak Sherry Butts.  This is a fabulous old whisky. A real stunner.

Adelphi Longmorn 1992 17 Years Old £75.95

On the nose tomatoes, peaches. A background wisp of smoke. On the palate it is rich, creamy with treacle and toffee.  Probably the best Longmorn I've had.

Adelphi Macallan 1995 14 Years Old £69.95

A great cask strength Macallan from a refill sherry cask with Sweet. Malt. Madeira cake. Gariboldi biscuits. Raisins. Sun dried tomatoes.

See all Adelphi bottlings

And from Wemyss Vintage Malts

"Honey Smoke" Caol Ila 1996 £78.95

An acceptional Caol Ila.  Orange Muscat on fire.

"Spiced Apples" Benrinnes 1995 £46.95

A great Benrinnes from a refill sherry hgshead.  Probably my favourite of the bunch.  On both the nose and the palate there's just different layers of spice and apples.

"The Fruit Bowl" Glen Garioch 1989 £66.50

This does what it says and its all about fruit salad from a wooden bowl.

"Tropical Spice" Dalmore 1990 19 Years Old £71.95

This is the Wemyss bottling that so many are raving about. From a first fill sherry butt.  The nose is Brandy snaps and fig rolls.  The taste is chocolate cake in Cognac.

And for something different:

Darnley's View Gin £19.95

A fabulous gin from Wemyss.  The two main botanicals of Elderflower and citrus really standout producing a gin that already smells like gin and tonic.
