Description
Wormtub is a 12 year old Speyside Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky from a secret distillery that maintains its traditional method of condensation, matured for 12 years and finished in a first-fill oloroso sherry hogshead. It has been bottled at natural cask strength without any added colour.
A wormtub is a beautiful bit of traditional distilling equipment that consists of a long copper coiled tube ("worm") submerged in a "tub" of cold water that turns vapour into spirit. Worm tubs impart a more distinctive, robust flavour compared to shell and tube condensers more widely used in modern distilling. Just 18 worm tubs remain in use in Scotland today.
