Description
This Pulteney was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 from a first fill Bourbon barrel which produced 1182 bottles. The barrels used are from Makers Mark which is made with soft red winter wheat, instead of traditional rye, to give a full flavoured bourbon that's easy to drink. The barrels are American oak, aged to taste rather than time and every barrel is rotated by hand for a smooth flavour. The Pulteney distillery prides itself on using these ex bourbon barrels air dried by the North Sea's salty atmosphere.
The Morrison family describe this as having "Gentle savoury maritime notes, a subtle salinity balanced with citrus and vanilla."
