Description
This Caol Ila was distilled in 2012 and bottled in May 2020 from 3 ex-Sherry Butts which produced 1324 bottles.
Morrison and MacKay desribed this Caol Ila as a delicious marriage of briny, sweet distillate supercharged with Sherry Butts.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
TWSD: The nose starts with dusty coal embers and strawberry jelly. That works. Then comes hot baking parchment straight out of the oven. All under pinned with a strong brine quality. |
Taste |
Distillery: The palate is well balnced. There is golden syrup, roasted oranges and lemon meriingue pie. Then the peat comes through and taps you on the shoulder. |
Finish |
Distillery: The finish is chewy smoked fudge and tobacco. |
