Tasting Notes
Nose |
Distillery:Β This big bold Islay whisky charges out of the glass with notes of coastal smokiness galore; iodine, beach bonfire, harbour rope and tar all abound.
WSD: Day old tar, smoked mackerel, beef gravy granules and smoked cheddar. Sulphury rubber bicycle tyres, germoline and roasted meats. |
Taste |
Distillery: The palate brings in a rich backbone of chewy fruits revealing its secondary maturation in ex-sherry wood, and a little water shows a rich, deep smokiness spanning cherries, earthy peat smoke, Demerara sugar and grilled peaches.
WSD: Sweet barbeque sauce, smoked beef brisket, sweet smoked chilli beef, smoked caramelised beef. Sweet and sour. |
Finish |
Distillery:Β The texture, combined with powerful character gives an exceptionally long finish with wood smoke and rich fruit cake dancing on the palate. |
