Description
This Craigellachie has been bottled especially for the Chinese New Year and was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021 from a butt which produced 550 bottles.
Ronnie of BB&R says: “Butter and grassy nose then ‘into the mash tun aromas’. Floral notes soft and plant-like, then dried fruits, humbugs and cloverflower honey, marzipan and toffee. Powerful in ABV it takes to water delivering a delicious waxiness, lillies and herbs with spices and jute on the memorable finish.”
Tasting Notes
Nose |
Distillery: The heavy distillate from Craigellachie works wonderfully in ex-sherry wood, powerful aromas of struck matches and malting barley roll into muscular notes of dates, clove rock and sultana bread. |
Taste |
Distillery: The palate is incredibly thick bringing a waxy character carried with honey, almonds, prunes with bursts of lime and mango towards the back palate. |
Finish |
Distillery: Wood spice dominates on the finish with an array of baking spices dancing across the tongue. Powerful, complex. cerebral and moreish! |
