Continuing the legacy of the highly collectable Tun ranges – Tun 1401 and Batches 1-7 of Tun 1509 – the exclusive expression further exemplifies the unrivalled expertise of Malt Master David Stewart MBE in marrying precious aged stocks, which he has acquired in a lifetime dedicated to his craft. To create Batch No. 8 of the Balvenie TUN 1509, David C. Stewart MBE carefully hand-selected 18 of the finest casks – 4 ex-bourbon barrels, 6 second fill Sherry butts, 5 refill puncheons and 3 new sherry butts – from the distilleries precious aged whiskies. These 18 casks have spent 3 months in a traditional marrying Tun, knitting together.
