The Bunnahabhain 12 is now bottled at 46.3% and is natural colour and un-chillfiltered. This new version is even better than the old bottling in opinion of The WSD. £48.95Add to CartView the Product
This limited batch Bunnahabhain Ceobanach, pronounced kyaw-bin-och and meaning 'smoky mist' in Gaelic, began with a dream of Ian McMillan, the Master Distiller. His desire was to reflect the 19th century origins of Bunnahabhain, both the place and the single malt's charming complex character. Many years of careful monitoring have resulted in an un-chillfiltered single malt bursting with complex layers of natural flavour evocative of times long past: the lemon gold liquid has been matured in ex bourbon casks for over 10 years producing a rich sweet creamy oak maltiness on the palate complimenting the intensely peated fragrant smoke on the nose.

Distillery Manager Andrew Brown says this Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair (pronounced stew-rahdur, meaning helmsman) is the distillery's tribute to the sea and it's influence on their whisky. Chosen from sherry casks of varying ages from different parts of the warehouse.

This Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dha (meaning Smoky Two in Gaelic) is described by the distillery manager as "With touches of smoke from our peated malted barley, this whisky's prickling strength emanates from the dram, while warming with a lingering, robust length and delicately sweet sherry influence."
