The distillery says: "Glenglassaugh is distilled with mineral-rich spring water, and nourished by the sea air that drifts through our warehouses. After maturing for 12 years in a combination of bourbon, sherry and red wine casks, it develops a harmonious balance of coastal richness, shaped by an abundance of land and sea."

This single malt spent its first eight years mellowing in American white oak bourbon casks. Then, delighted by that whisky’s smooth, soft character, Dr Bill was inspired to finish a select batch in Palo Cortado casks, never before used at Glenmorangie.

Aged in 3 types of cask - bourbon, refill and re-charged - these whiskies are then brought together delivering a perfectly balanced single malt. The Loch Lomond Distillery describe this as having floral notes of peach blossom, pear, golden barley and vanilla. 
Jura 12 Years Old is matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels with an aged Oloroso Sherry cask finish.
