Description
When New Zealand whisky evangelists Warren and Deb Preston identified Oamaru's historic harbour as what they believe to be the ideal seaside climate for maturing whisky. They think they have done something profound. They decanted over 200 barrels of Dunedin distilled single grain whisky out of American bourbon barrels and into French oak New Zealand wine barrels. The Dunedin Double Wood was born. The New Zealand Whisky Collection is now proud to present The Oamaruvian - specially selected casks chosen for their rich toffee, floral nose and creaming soda mouth-feel with a hint of Oamaru sea spray to finish.

| The WSD: A fantastic rich sherry nose, with dark fruits like Christmas cake in a glass. This is definitely one you can sit and nose for hours. (V) |

| The WSD: The nose is totally replicated in the taste, even more so. So fantastic, it's a mixture of whisky, port, rum and sherry all at once. Rich and luxurious with orange chocolate following on. So smooth you want to sit in a corner nursing and nosing it, wishing it could last forever. (V) |

| The WSD: You don't want it to. Silky smooth as it travels down like Galaxy Chocolate. The rum notes linger reminding you of a very good, old rum (Dictador 20 perhaps) or an old Glenfarclas. (V) |
