Description
This Old & Rare Glen Grant was distilled in July 1985 and bottled in February 2011. It was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in an ex-wine barrel which produced 207 bottles.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
DL: On the nose detect a big round perfumed and spiced quality carrying, dark fruit dowsed and soaked in manuka honey.
The WSD: Daffodils, honey and treacle. Tangerines and fudge. Over ripe mango. |
Taste |
DL: The palate displays sweet malt, light smoke, camphor and vanilla, still with an attractive spiciness throughout.
The WSD: Lots of spice, sack cloth and cork. Honey concentrate and vanilla. |
Finish |
DL: Sweet and bourbon in style carrying molasses, vanilla caramel, more of those spices - carried now within a red fruit macedonia. |
