Description
The distillery have said that Svensk Ek is the only whisky in the world that is aged in oak that should have been used to build ships for the Swedish Royal Navy. The trees, which were planted on an island called Visingso in the 19th Century, are today part of one of the biggest oak woods in Sweden. Harsh weather conditions and dramatic shifts in seasons have left marks in the trees giving them a more powerful and spicy character. Before the trees become barrels they are seasoned for at least a year.
