What gives Ledaig 18 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky its intensely complex character the Distillery asks? First, peat-dried malted barley is married with aromatic water, drawn from Tobermory Distilleries private water source on the rugged Isle of Mull . Matured in superior oak wood casks, and finished in Spanish sherry wood casks the result is a wonderfully peated single malt, robust and vibrant with a spicy smokiness, floral seaside aromas and hints of liquorice and cloves.
Distillery: Copper-gold in appearance, the nose is rich with fruity sherried smokiness accompanied by seaweed and light creosote, dried chilli flakes, spicy black pepper and hints of sweet oakiness.
Distillery: Sip to find powerful rich, sherried, herbal smoky flavours with orange peel, coffee, a touch of sea salt, tobacco and white pepper.
Distillery: The finish is long and quite pungent with more smoke and a delightful hint of liquorice and sea spray.
