Description
What The WSD thinks: Peaches in freshly laundered blankets and then raisin flapjacks. Sweet on the palate the brine comes through followed by fruit toffee. then the salt returns.
Tasting Notes
Nose |
Distillery: Full complex aromas with fruit and full sherried malty tones.WSD: Smooth, silk like. There's warm dates and hints of marzipan and orange. A cornucopia of different cakes fresh from the oven. Everything is so well balanced. Time brings out more boiled sweets and chocolate toffee. |
Taste |
Distillery: With sherry, cognac, brandy, fruit, nuts, marzipan (and even icing), this is a wonderfully indulgent Christmas cake in a glass.WSD: Orange toffee sauce drizzled over alcohol macerated dried fruits with a pronounced icing sugar sweetness. |
Finish |
Distillery: A whisky you never want to end and it very nearly doesn't. The finish is exquisite with a real taste of burnt chocolate at the back of your mouth. |
