Kinrara Gin 70cl

Kinrara’s highland distillery is nestled in 12,000 acres of Cairngorm National Park, just outside Aviemore. One of Soctland's newest micro distilleries they make Highland dry gin and liqueurs and will eventually produce single malt and rum. Kinrara distillery prides itself on creating a handcrafted small batch spirit. From the distillation of the gin right down to the bottling, everything is lovingly done by hand, by our passionate highland team. The distillery tell us 'Our gins are developed on ‘Wee Alice’, a fifty litre Hoga copper pot still which is ideal for creating unique spirits. Once we are happy with the recipes, we move up to our 100 litre stills for production. These are as yet unnamed. The distillation process sees us macerating our botanicals for several hours.' A  juniper led dry gin, combining both foraged and locally sourced botanicals. The rosehip’s and rowan berries that we use in the gin have been gathered from the estate grounds throughout the year. With a nose which is fruity and Floral with a hint of Rosehip and slight sweetness, and a slightly Floral, Juniper led dry gin with a long subtle orange finish on the palate. This is from batch 27 and is one of only 240 bottles. The distillery recommend serving in a tumbler with lots of ice and topped with a premium tonic and a sliver of orange peel.

Misty Isle Gin 70cl

Misty Isle Gin is the only gin made on the Isle of Skye, by the Wilson brothers, Thomas and Alastair. All of the gin is made locally in Portree and the brothers say the bottle shape represents the elements if the Isle of Skye with each bottle being unique and different. They also tell us 'Our juniper berries are hand foraged from various wild locations around Skye. Our Juniper is then slowly distilled in traditional gas fired copper pot stills for approximately 8 hours, then vapour infused with our botanicals.'

They use 11 botanicals in total including; Juniper, coriander, grains of paradise, orris root, liquorice root, black cubebs, lemon peel, cassia bark to name some and one which is top secret and only comes from the Isle of Skye.

This results in our gin being Juniper heavy but not too floral with earthy undertones and a hint of spice, subtle flavours of citrus with a refreshing after taste.

Recommend Serve: A Scottish tonic water or Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic water, garnished with a twist of fresh orange peel.
